I have been using a Dewalt 735 for the past 3 years and knew I needed to upgrage to something with more power and I finally did, this Jet is 15 inches and 3 HP. I've read many reviews on many planers and they are all mixed. The only thing I miss from…

Yeah, I know what you're thinking and you're partly right. Why am I reviewing a glorified ruler? Well there is a little bit more to it than that. I have a couple of combo squares that I regularly use, and one of them broke a few weeks ago. Recently, I've turned into a…

I don't believe in reviewing or giving opinions on woodworking books unless you can legitimately say you've built at least a couple of items from the book. I've completed the end tables in this book, and currently I'm working on the framed mirror project. Now that I have presented my…

It is incredulous me that Kreg would post picture 8 in its promotional pictures showing the the blade mounted backwards in the table saw in the picture. This does not give me a confident feeling about Kreg Corp.

In my beginning years as a home builder, the man i worked for bought me a stair jig, we built 3 to 4,000 sq ft. homes in ct. i became the stair man , when the rest of the crew would move on to the next home to be built, i would stay and build the stairs . i use to do it with a square and brass knocks, as we called it, mark them all out and i then would make a bunch of cuts , within the marks i made, with a skill saw and then chisel all the meterial out, long process to say.. then my boss…

If you followed my posts in the beginners forum, you can follow my progress from unboxing to cutting wood. This saw peformes beyond my expectations. Does everything I ask of it. The best tablesaw for the money. Peforms on par with saws costing 400-500.00 more. Would recommend to all. If you have any questions on setting up or use, feel free to post to me and I will answer all.

I just purchased a dust deputy the DIY version and put together . The only thing you get is the plastic cyclone top part. You need 6, 1/4 twenty thread bolts 3/4 inch long and I used about a 6 inch square piece of 1/4 inch thick styrofoam for a gasgut. I bought a 5 gallen bucket with a lid and cut a 3 inch hole in the center of the lid and centered the dust deputy over the 3 inch hole. I used the dust deputy to trace the location of the holes. Then I taped the styrofoam over and…

Over the weekend my family and I went to the Denver Home Show held at the National Western Complex. It was more of a research/idea gathering mission than anything else. We're in the process of doing a lot of home improvements and remodeling (like most homeowners are) and thought this would be a great place to get some ideas and resources and had no intentions of buying anything or signing up for…

Got the Shop Fox setup with help from my 9 year old son in 45 minutes. * Note: a 220v plug is not included so if you decide to buy, you need to purchase one*. I moved up from a HF Dust Collector with 15 feet of piping and a trash can separater before the collector. I can't measure the CFM of the HF, but I can tell you that this Dust Collector outperforms hands-down. The Collector was $360.00…

Ok, like many DW735 owners have already noticed, this planer eats knives like a fat kid on cake. Are infinity knives the solution like many have said in their reviews? In my opinion, yes and no. The pros are that the knife life is much longer than the standard Dewalts, but the cut quality is not there. You will see a picture enclosed of a piece of Maple that I sent through the planer on it's second pass and how the blades pulled the grain and left small grooves. These knives are 2 sided…

The beadlock pro is a loose tenon jig. It has a very sturdy case to carry the unit and accessories. Uses a 3/8
drill bit to make the joints. This unit in combo with kreg clamps to layout the joints you now can make loose tenons fast and easy. Success the first try. I have waited for this unit for over 2 months from Rockler. I think it was worthy the wait 2 backorders later. Now if they can get the bill correct with sale price and 15% discount which was my origanal order. Here are a…

I have just used the deck jig on pressure treated pine 5/4, works fantastic no issues. I redid my deck with composite last year and used the clips (did not know about this product at the time), they were very expensive and time consuming. Kreg seems to be very well in tune with their customers.

I saw this tool in operation and after all the years that I have been exposed to the table saw dangers this product impressed me the most. I think it would be of benifit for all of us to watch this in operation and it is reasonable in price as well. Much better than any push stick or…

So many tools. So little time.
Craftsman, Makita, Skil, Bosch, DeWalt, Hitachi, Porter Cable, Dremel, Delta, Metabo, Black & Decker, General, Ryobi, Milwaukee, Kobalt.......
With all of the options out there, what's your preference? Why do you like the particular brand? And, which brands would you stay away from and why?
Personally, I have my own favorites in a variety of areas. For hand tools, I lean toward Craftsman. Power tools, DeWalt…

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
