Mao Shan 12" tilting arbor table saw

Hey guys I need your help again. I aquired a 1987 MAO SHAN table saw from my grandfather today. All in all it looks to be in pretty good shape. I gave it a thorough cleaning and once over. Obviously I will need a new blade and it didn't come with a fence. Those are easy fixes. The problem I am having is that the belt is shot. Not from over use I dont even think this thing has 50 hours on it. It is dry rotted. I have the manual which lists a part number but that doesn't seem to be helping. I have the model and serial number though. Serial #51762 model # TSC-12. Any clue where I should start looking? Also any thoughts on the actual table saw? If I do find a replacement belt a guy from work said he would come over and go over it to see if it was safe to operate. He has much more experience than I do. Although I think it will be fine safety first.

Replacement Belts:

Take the belt with you to an ACE Hardware or True Value Hardware store---

They have a "belt measuring" device---

they stock a large selection of "V" belts.

OPTION(s):

check out Rockler Woodworking and Hardware.

They offer a "link-type belt".

It's adjustable---will fit most table saws, that use "V- belts".

Another option may be your nearest auto parts store.  If it's an independent or Napa, they can probably measure the old one and get you a replacement.  The chain stores may be able to help if they are staffed by car guys and not teenagers that just look up replacement parts.

You probably already know this but make sure the outer edge is as wide on the new one so it doesn't ride in the bottom of the pulleys.  I got my Craftsman TS belt at the parts store.

THANK YOU KEN!!! You couldn't have made it any easier. I took off the old belt. Brought it to my local ACE. They measured it and handed me an exact replacement. All for under $10.00.
