While Gary provides one option, I used a small Skil brand table saw for many years. I was fortunate to find an upgrade table and fence for it which allowed a larger surface area and larger rip capacity fence, but I've seen many of these small saws built into larger tables. The biggest drawback to my previous unit was the inability to use a wide stacked dado set and the miter slots were smaller than full size saws, meaning many aftermarket accessories will not work.

I'm not advocating the small saw over a larger contractor or cabinet saw, but if its your only option available, you can still work with it.

this is what the table and fence I mentioned looks like. The portable saw drops into the opening and is adjusted by levelers to be flush with the table.

I have been using a Dewalt compact job site saw for past 4 years. Just over $300 @ Home Depot ($379). Place it on work bench shelf and table becomes out feed . Would work for you if your budget can handle it.  Look at my profile for pics of bench and saw.

Check out the local pawn shops, as well. I've run across some pretty nice job site saws for $150 and under. (DeWalt, Rigid, Makita)

I've owned the small Skil table saw that others have mentioned and its done my OK for years.

Amazon.com lists a Dewault job site saw for $299 with free shipping. I would suspect that saw would be better than the Skil saw, but you'll need to build a stand for it - a great chance to use your Kreg Jig to build a simple table out of scrap 2x lumber. It'll also likely be more stable than the Skil saw stand anyway.

Better yet (my opinion only because most of my power tools are reconditioned Bosch products from this place and I've really liked them ... they may have a few scratches, but no biggie), you can get a reconditioned Bosch jobsite saw for $299 with free shipping from here:

kobalt table saw portable and very easy to put together great buy in my opinion read the reviews did very well and its under 300 bucks. Its perfect for someone that doesn't have a big area to work in folds up nicely and  is easy to maneuver to where ever you are working.

Mr. C. Lenz makes a good point. I would add that if this is your first table saw that you make it as simple as possible. You can add features of your own as your skills grow. The biggest thing with any saw is the blade being used. It does the actual cutting, All steel teeth blades are cheaper, but do not make the best cuts. Blades with carbide tips are much better but can cost much more. No matter your decision on the model or type become familiar with the safety features thoroughly before getting too eager to do a project that matters. The purpose is to get straight cuts that are accurate to get the best fit possible. Good luck and enjoy the adventure.

I always search for the old cast iron larger tools like the table saw, planers and thicknesers as well as band saws. Pick them up for next to nothing and they are quality. Never wear and if the motor goes just put in a new one. And boy, they are as steady as. Just love them

I have this table saw. Very handy to fold up to store and open up to use. Seems to have plenty of power.

drawbacks include the flimsy rip fence and miter. Will be building a crosscut sled for it soon.
