Hello.John here from Belfast in Northern Ireland. Just purchased a Pocket Jig and am enjoying trying out new things. I attend a weekly woodwork class and over the years have tried various projects of varying degrees of difficulty. As I don't have a table saw of my own I usually have to have the basic cutting done for me but I cam manage most other aspects of the craft. It will be good to have access to the expertise of other enthusiasts and, who knows, I might even be able to pass on a tip or two I have picked up along the way myself.

Here's a pic of a little coffee table made from ash which was fun to build.

If you are actually accomplishing making things as good as that coffee table and don't have a table saw I'd say you can definitely pass along some useful tips! LOL I'm picturing you in your shop that consists of a 2' x 4' Peg board to hang all three of your tools on... a hammer, a chisel and a hacksaw! HAHAHAHA Great job on the table!

I do have a question to ask the forum, has any body used the jig to bond a 45 degree angle to a straight board. I saw the video but that gives an overlap. I am looking for a clean profile at the edge. Comments will be appreciated

I've done very basic DIY style woodwork, but having moved to the bay area from the UK we need some extra furniture for the house, thought I could make a new hobby out of making some "rustic" furniture whilst remodeling the rest of the house, bit by bit. Being a programmer by trade, I'm combining technology with woodworking. Like many others I'm using SketchUp for design and blogging my builds on http://minionmade.blogspot.com, would welcome feedback and advice.

On the hard to get places, I use a small angle drill and a short bit.

Thanks for the info, I have also got the shorted Kreg bit and a flexible shaft, so hopefully won't get caught out again.

A great asset to a woodworkers selection is a "pocket hole jig".

There are nearly limitless projects one can make, using the jigs.
