I'm new to the Kreg Jig as I saw and obtained it through the TV show. Just to get use to it, I followed the bird feeder plan. It was simple, quick and easy to follow. Took it to the office to give to someone and the receptionist got so excited when seeing it, she ordered one. Once I have completed another easy task or two, I want to build the bookcase for myself. I appreciated the article on Sandpaper Basics as I am working on some woodworking projects with my grandson and, even though I am aware of its content, it is a good refresher and it is also good information for my grandson to build from.

Thanks for the welcome. I won't be posting anything too soon since I am doing a total rebuild of my shop and not close to getting back to woodworking just yet, although I am chomping at the bit. I was turned on the Kreg by a woodworker friend and when I read all about the jig I had to get one right away. With the new shop I plan on getting familiar with cabinet building, which is why I bought the top of your line router table setup. So, with the new shop comes somewhat of a new direction for this woodworker.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll hopefully be posting some photos of my Kreg jig set-up and offer productivity ideas and suggestions to preserve step bit life (while still working quickly and safely). I'm also looking forward to learning lots of tips from everyone!

Hello, Thanks for the nice welcome. I won't be posting anything soon. I'm still working on my whole plan of attack. But I'll post things as I complete them. :-)

Thank you for the welcome. Since your initial welcome, i managed to try and put something together using my Kreg Master Kit. The Kreg router table is really a nice design and i didn't have to change much to personalize it. It works pretty good as well. Please feel free to take a look at it and give me your critique. I am still working out some issues with my table saw but i am happy with the way it turned out. I will try to come on line more often, but good bye for now.

We received the Kreg Jig the first week of August. My first project using the Kreg Jig was a California King platform bed to accomodate a new Sleep Number 11" X 76" X 80" matress. I modified a plan for a double bed to complete this project.

After reviewing the Kreg Jig dvd and the manual, along with the modified plans for the bed, I saw cut all the frame pieces and plywood for the platform frame and drilled the pocket holes. I finished the materials with English Chestnut stain. After dried I assembled the platform bed. All of the joints were secured on the inside with no exterior screws visible. I used the pocket screws only and no glue.

We are enjoying our new bed and I am starting a new project building 3 bookcases using the Kreg Jig. An awesome tool.

Kreg created a monter, So fare I got read of my old store bought desk, all partical board, found a 50 year old desk top at Habitat for Humanity for 5 bucks, full 5 1/4 thick and 6.4 by 42", In realy bad shape, could be used for fire wood if anything. The finish was well waren, lot of sanding. Had a vinear that stood up to 50 grit belt sander. What a vinerar!!!! , Rip 15" off the length, used it for pedistells, So now the desk is 6.4 x 27. Made the drawers and keyboard tray, and related mounts. The Krag mad it easeay. I haven't done any real work like this in 20 years, Now I have to get all my tools in shape for more. I'll post some more as I get my shop set up.
