Hello. My name is Mike. I'm located just outside of Washington, D.C. in Maryland. I work as a Ministry Coordinator at a local church and I'm fairly new in the woodworking world. I've had occasion to finish some small projects at home which I've really enjoyed. I recently purchased the big tool box Kreg Jig set and have already begun a kitchen table and bench project. Looking forward to learning and sharing with the community at Kreg.
Here is my first project. Tony D. in Central Georgia.
How do you correct the drill throughs?
Hi Anthony, We need more information when you say "correct drill throughs" as it depends on what the "drill through" are in. Was it a drill going through the jig base of is a drill going through some material you are working on? It sounds like an improper set bit stop collar or improper setting for the wood thickness if this something you drilled using the jig. Please let us know more information and we will see what we can do to help you.
Also Welcome to the community and a sincere wish that you will find things here that will enhance your woodworking ventures.
My name is Sonny and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Been a Kreg Jig owner since the company introduced the all aluminum Kreg Jig way back when. Still have it and still use it!!! Been very happy with the concept of pocket-hole joinery ever since. The process just works!!!! Definitely consider myself a novice woodworker. Tend to think that I like collecting--or amassing--woodworking tools more than I really like the woodworking. But it sure makes the effort of woodworking a whole lot easier when you have the right tools!!!
Question for my Kreg Friends... Hoping that someone out there has encountered this type of situation and has found a solution...
Was working on a project and to my utter dismay I run out of my 1.25" pocket hole screws. Of course this happens to me while I'm working one Saturday evening and the most likely place where I can buy some more is closed for the night. On the plus side, I still have a sizable supply of 1.5" pocket hole screws. My project of course entails working with 3/4" material. I have to admit, at that hour of the evening, I really wasn't about to experiment or "attempt at doing the math" to figure out how to best set the collar depth to the pocket hole drill bit. So I had to wait until two days later to replenish my supply of 1.25" pocket hole screws.
For future reference, does anyone know at what depth from the shoulder of the drill bit one should set the depth collar so that I can use 1.5" pocket hole screws on 3/4" material so that I don't have to worry about the point of the screw going through the other side of the adjoining material???
Welcome Sonny, I am not anywhere close to being able to offer advice but I do know that at Kreg site, they have a video for screw length and how to experiment, what you want to watch for when determining screw length. You might find it helpful in your particular case.
Hi Rita...
Thank you so much for the quick reply!!! You wouldn't happen to have a link to direct me to that video that you're referring to, would you??? Or a least a starting point of some sort???

Sonny, Go to Kreg Tool Company, look under pocket screws and then the video for choosing screw length.
This link might help.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
