I have attempted to make kitchen cabinets myself, mostly because of the cheap crap that is offered out there as cabinets.
They are completely made of pine and I have routed the doors myself. Again, this is my first time and I am no where near a professional. I have always been interested in woodworking, but this is really my first attempt at any real "project".
The last pic is the breakfast bar that I have added to the kitchen.
All of these have been made with a Kreg jig.

Hey Derek, for your first project they are very nice! There's a lot to be said about making something yourself to use in the home!!
very nice love the breakfast bar
Nice work - keep it up and you'll be a pro in no time!
Derek, very nice work for your first time. I see nothing wrong with what you have done. They look far better than some of the so called custom cabinets you get at home stores. Like Justin said that there is something special when you build something for your home.
I like the bar you have posted as it has a rich color that is inviting to touch and look at. Keep up the good work that you has just diplayed and you will have a kithen that others envy and you will be proud to own.
Nice work Derek! You should be proud of what you are accomplishing. I hope you found your Kreg Jig helpful in the process. It makes cabinet construction faster and easier, for sure.

Awesome Job! You did a great job for your first try. I have been working with tools and wood since I was a little girl. But getting ready to take on our kitchen in our mobile home. I so hate its cheap cabinets. Never built full cabinets before so you give me inspiration.

Great job. You should be very proud of yourself.
Love it! Good job.
Great job Derek. For you first time at making kitchen cabinets they look great. They should last many
years. There's nothing like making your own. Looks better and quality is better than store bought.
Very nice job Derek, you can be very proud of your work ,well done !!!
Thanks very much for all the great comments. I am very proud of the fact that I made them. I do find it great to be able to say that I did it!! I seen the infomercial on Kreg Jigs on TV one day, did a little research and decided to pick one up at Lee Valley. I am not one to go on about any certain product or to promote one, but I have to say, the Kreg Jig is awesome. If I can whip out a cabinet that I am proud of, and get so many compliments on, I would say this thing is great!! Again, thanks for the compliments and Kreg, thanks for the jig!
Thanks Sharon. Pick up the books by Danny Proulx on cabinet making. I found these extremely helpful as well as The Complete Cabinet Maker's Reference by Jeffrey Piontkowski. I find myself continually referencing these books. Good luck and be sure to post pics though the whole process.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
