Kreg Owners' Community

Hey everyone, I thought I'd let you know that all General Tools pocket hole screws and accessories are on clearance at Home Depot. I got everything in the pic below for $11! The 100 count boxes of 1¼" are down to $1.60 and the #2 square drive extensions are only $1.40. I wiped out all the screws and bought an extra extension set. YMMV (Your mileage might vary).

Where can I find these at in the store?  I bought my Kreg jig online and haven't seen screw at HD unless I'm looking in the wrong section.

Hi Will In my store they would be at the very end of the aisle with the small power tools; drills, routers, etc. In my store they are actually right next to the routers in a wall display.  No Kreg branded screws though, they have the Kreg jig kit, not the master.

Ah thanks for the help John.  I'll check out my store on the way home.

Yeah, each HD is a little different. They are usually in a small section in the tool department. All the pocket hole and doweling stuff is together.

I got 3 boxes of coarse and 1 box of fine screws and a drive bit set for $8!

thanks just cleaned my store out

No prob, glad to help out!

I don't care for the General Brand, the washer is too small. The bits are okay.

Larry,

I too, did not find the GT screws, satisfactory for my uses.

''washerless'' head style screws, used in soft woods, can engage to deeply, when attempting to achieve a tight fitting joint.

The small dia screw-head, embeds itself below the intended mating surface---

which can result in blow-out (the screw point protruding thru the finished work-piece).

Kregs washer-head style screws are most effective, in soft woods.

The washer covers a larger surface area, reducing the risk of the screw head embedding to deeply.

i bought a bunch of the General screws recently too.  I have experienced the problem in soft wood also.  They seem to do ok in hardwood so far.  Anyone tried adding a washer?

I just wiped out the screws at Home Depot in Billings. I also got all of this driver bits and all of this step drill bits. I also got a killer deal on a dove tailer and a precision drill guide. Thanks for the awesome tip.

Great, I know you made an awesome purchase.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
