Kreg Owners' Community

On March 23rd, 2010, we announced the all-new Kreg Deck Jig™ through the Kreg Jig Owners' Community.  Community members were the very first customers to hear about the new tool, outside the walls of Kreg.  On May 1st, the Deck Jig will start become available at many dealers across the country, including Lowe's, Woodcraft, Amazon, and more!

"Whether you’re building a new deck or refinishing an old one, you want to do the job right. With the Kreg Deck Jig™ – and a few simple tools you already own – you can create a beautiful and functional deck surface, completely free of exposed fasteners and painful splinters! Traditional concealed-decking systems utilize awkward steel fasteners or thin plastic clips to hold your deck boards in place. The Kreg Deck Jig™ utilizes a more straight forward approach, creating an incredibly strong wood-to-wood bondthrough precisely placed self-tapping screws.

Layout Mitered Corners, Set 3/16" Reveals, Transfer Measurements, Align / Square Your Projects, Set Bit / Blade Heights, Layout Wall Studs, Use as a Basic Rule, Marking for Layout, Use as a Simple Level"

This thread is a place where members can post their thoughts/comments/questions/reviews regarding the Deck Jig, as well as posting photos, reviews, applications of their own Deck Jig.  Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Looks great gary. I'll admit, based on my experience with Trex, I was skeptical but I'm glad it worked out for you. I was thinking the edges might break away around the holes.

I am glad I used the trex. The boards have a solid feel to them no loosness at all no movement at all granted only a month or so time. Just got put the last side of the railing up and build a set of steps off each of the short sides of the deck and put the latice trim around the bottom.

The finish of my deck last 2 pictures. The lattice around the bottom is floating in a rabbit in top and bottom ledger boards so you can remove at any time by sliding them out.

Gary,

Very nice looking.

 Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ken long process as a pay as you go glad its done.

Gary,

Been there---done that.

It's worked out better for me, on many projects.

It just takes proper sequential planning.

BTW---I used the 1'' privacy lattice, surrounding my new deck---so as to keep the critters out---

they can be a real nuisance.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
