I wonder it they are going to sell the stop block on it's own?  My K-4 won't hold a 3 1/2" wide piece.

dang I JUST boughtthe Kreg $140 setup from Lowes for my Pergola....now I have to get another $60 piece!  Need some overtime!

Father's Day is just around the corner, Rod.

The Kreg HD sounds great for some tomato planters I am hoping to make this fall.  Major basement work won't let me take advantage of the June release... but I've just added it to my Father's Day list.  I might even have to put it in bold print.  ;^)

Sounds like you're growing some "HUGE" tomatoes---

you think you'll need 4x4's to hold up them vines?

No, after about 3 years of fewer and fewer strawberries, and more weeds, I'm going to dismantle my pyramid strawberry patch made of 6 x 8 rough cut oak.  I'll cut the timbers into one foot lengths and make some planters that will sit on top of the ground... after I put down fresh landscaping cloth.  Then I'll cover the area with lots of mulch to keep weeds under control.  Might even make a few extra to hold a few pepper plants.

I'm in no way taking anything from your new HD System (jig, Screws, ect) However:

I would like to ask why your company chose a 1.25 in. fine thread screw for comparison, rather then a 2.5 in. course thread, which would be it's closest comparable screw in the standard size. If your company, wants to use a picture to compare, why not be fair?

The Kreg Jig® HD draws most of it's strength from the significantly larger HD screws. Here's a quick size comparison between the new HD screws, and our standard SML- F125 screws.

maybe you misunderstand what they are saying....this is a comparison of thier smaller jig's standard screw and thier new jig size.  They are not saying their 2.5" screw is better then a 2.5" course thread.  They are stating if you liked the clamping force of our smaller jig, the new jig should be even better due to it's larger, stronger screw being used.

First look at the Kreg JIg HD from Chief's Shop: http://chiefsshop.wordpress.com/2012/05/26/chiefs-shop-quick-look-k...

Thanks for the update.

Love your products---

makes me look good.

No, I didn't misunderstand. Would you use a fine thread inch and a quarter screw to hold something you would use the two and a quarter inch HD screw on? If the HD option were not available you would use a two and a half  inch course thread standard screw. Humans by nature are visual, and to compare the two screws your company has is unfair to the masses who do not read the captions. or perhaps can not read or don't understand what they read. I am not going to hijack your forum to debate this. Your company makes great products, my jig payed for it's self with the first project and have since bought the mini insert and a second jig. I just want you to understand how this is confusing and considered misleading to some. I would have expected more from Kreg.

Thanks for your time.
