1. Miter Slide Saw
My next new miter slide saw purchase will be a 12" DeWalt---most suitable for some heavy-duty construction applications.
A 10" size, is ideal for most home owner/handyman use applications, from cutting 2x stock to small trim.
For trim, moldings, and the like, a 10" 80 tooth carbide saw blade, is the way to go.
It produces the smoothest finished cut---as smooth a cut as one will get with a router bit cut edge.
2. Dust colletion:
A rectangular funnel like object, (see rocklers version), located at the back side of the saw is most effective---it will collect most of the sawdust, but not all of it.
There are too many areas around the saw---cracks, crevices and the like---that trap and hold sawdust.
For complete cleaning, I then follow up with a round vac brush and nozzle, for final clean-up.
In hard to get at crevices, I blow-out the sawdust, using an air compressor, with a small nozzle.
Works for me.

Finding U.S made is very tough and expensive I got a 12 inch sliding dual compound and stand from Tool King for 500.00. Plenty of power easy to setup and has given no problems.Take a look at tool King or Tools Direct it cant hurt.If you really need pro Fein is the only way to go but it is Pricey almost a 1,000.00.
Sears also makes on that has the crown setup in it.
Good Luck
Space behind the sliding miter saw is no longer an issue now that Bosch came out with their new saw.
I see all of these brands on Craigs List every day!
I have a 12in Dewalt that my trim carpenter used for 10 years then he sold it to me and it cuts perfect.
I just purchased a 12" compuond sliding saw from Harbor Freight. So far works great, have made 12 72" book cases withour a hitch. The laser alighment system works great. Boards come out the exact same lengrh ever time.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
