kreg a compound?

i'm building a box from plywood and don't wanna see the edge.also don't wanna use any nails.

can you kreg a compound 45?maybe drill the pocket holes first then rip the 45?

Might be time to experiment on some scraps. I'm thinking the pocket hole would have to be on the outside of the box to make it work.

Instead of 3/4 you would set the jig for 3/8 a 45 reduces by 50 %

Chris, did you ever resolve this?  The rep referencing the instruction manual doesn't help me much.  I'm having the same problem, I want to make a 90 degree corner out of 2 45 degree compounds (just like a box)  Did reducing it to 3/8's work for you?  Were you able to still make pocket holes inside the box?  I appreciate it if you have a chance to let me know.  I've been searching for this answer for awhile.

You have a biscuit cutter?  You could always use iron on veneer to cover the ply..  If you are set on pocket screws, couldn't you drill your pockets first and then cut your mitres?

Hey, thanks for the reply guys/gals.  Justin, I realize there are many ways to make a box, I was just wondering if there was a way to do so with the kreg on already cut compounds.  I realize what you are saying about cutting after, but my concern is how do I need to adjust the jig, as well as, will there be enough material to grab onto after the cut.  I was hoping Chris had found out and maybe would share his results.

It won't work. Even if you cut your mitres after you drill the holes. from the inside of the box the angle will be wrong and there won't be any material for the screw to screw into. The Kreg jig is a great tool but it does have it's limitations. You can use biscuits or a Lock Miter Bit in a router. Or there is a biscuit called the Lamello Fixo they have 2 different styles of biscuits for different types of joints.

I have used my biscuit cutter in 45's etc. before.  I have a Porter Cable and it will cut ff biscuits to number 20's and works great.
