If you glued it, probably 3 per joint would have done it.
Yeah but itsn't it FUN!!!! I love my Kreg Jig and clamps.
I was trying to type isn't it fun! :-)
Properly planed, glued, and clamped the edge joint will be strong even without screws. So, use enough screws to get a good clamping action. After the glue dries, you can remove the screws.
Maybe a pair in the edges and two more separated in the middle ? btw... nice job! jajaja
Al, I use a general rule of thumb for pocket holes and bisciuts. 3" to 4" from the end and 6" to 8" spacing in the field. If you have to double up on the holes, stagger opposingly for better strenght. Robert
Why bother take the screws out after gluing? Only thing I would change is to drill the holes with a more uniform pattern that way if the lid is up it doesn't look so irregular. Even if they are plugged you will still see them. Maybe not, who knows?
Wow, somebody who overbuilds more than me :).
I've been trying to cut back and try different things for strength when I build stuff. I just know that my kids are terrors and will climb on everything so I tend to go a bit overboard.
When edge joining, I use a double pocket at the ends of the boards (I have the Kreg Jr.) and then stagger single or double pockets in the field depending on the project.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
