Follow-up Dr. visit
17 Replies

It is Monday morning. I just got back to the Dr. as I expected. Good news, bad news. Let us do the bad news first, the first joint in both the middle finger and the ring finger are destroyed. The doctor is hoping the finger will fuse together at that point. Ring finger the worst, the bone at the tip of the finger is almost completely gone, as is the adjoining first joint. I have lost feeling from the second joint to the tips of fingers on ring finger and middle finger, the first finger looks…Continue

Safety.

I would like to take this oppertunity to respond to all of the Kreg Community for all the kind words and all the well wishes that have come my way. It gives me a feeling of belonging to a community that truely cares about the health and welfare for the neighbors they have never met but still care about. It will make the recovery much easier to deal with. To all of you, Thanks for the LOVE. William SteinfeldtContinue

Saw Stops, I need your Help!!!.

I need everyones help. I had that bad accident we all dread. Severe damage to three fingers on the right hand. First finger split in half running about one inch deep from side to side. Middle finger severed nerves, shattered the bone, and exposed bone in 4 or five places. Ring finger nerves severed, bone turned to dust from the impact. I believe the little finger suffered some nerve damage as well.      I need to find out about a saw stop, where can I grt one, will it retrofit on a Craftsman…Continue

Hello William,

I do appreciate your friendly gesture. I was sorry to read about your accident. It is an experience you will never forget. There must be some kind of emphatic destiny here. On the 7th of July 1971 I lost the tip of my right little finger in a jointer accident. It was replaced by a pectoral flap that necessitated the tip of the finger to be sewn onto my left pec for a month. Power tools can be notoriously dangerous. Take care my friend, but you'll be alright.

Jay, the honor is all mine, the hand is better, no infection showing, starting to see some healing. Work in the garage today worked on a little wiring, taking it easy, just little easy jobs around the house. I am finding there is more feeling coming back then I thought there would be. The tip of the first finger does have feeling so that will make picking things up much easier. I will keep you posted on progress and I will show you some of the projects I am working on. So for now I will say goodbye and talkie later.

Bill, it would be an honor to be considered a friend.  Hope this finds you feeling better and maybe the hand not so sore.  That is a pretty nasty injury but I know with your determination that you will heal and be back to your projects.  Until then my friend please take it easy and don't try to rush it,  Keep us posted on you progress.  jay

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
