Hi everyone, I have been surfing the Kreg community since I got my Kreg jig  and thought it was time for me to introduce myself.  I have recently retired from the New York State Courts and  live in NYC. I will soon be moving to New Hampshire where I  started setting up a shop. As you can see the space is finished I just need to complete the bench and move in the tools.  I have always liked woodworking and now have the time and space to really get involved. With a lot of projects planed for the house I am looking for ideas , advice and information about tools. The Kreg community  has a lot of great people with a  lot of experience  who are willing to help . I look forward to everyones advice. Thanks Will Delaney
I am Richard Woods. I am a retired construction electrician in the Cleveland Ohio area. I think of myself as a wood butcher rather than a woodworker. I have made mostly shelving in the 30 years I've owned a tablesaw. The shelves are functional but not very pretty. I want to build a corner entertainment center for a wall mounted TV. My first pockethole experience was about a year ago. I built a small table with pocketholes rather than tenons.

I'm Patrick from central CA. I haven't really done much wood working since Jr. HS wood shop (spring '89). Did a few things with my dad, but used to enjoy Norm on tv. I bought a K4 master last weekend. Ordered a right angle clamp and some screws since the only place that would sell larger amounts for a reasonable amount is wholesale only around here.

I Have a few projects on my list: garage shelves (hoping to do these next weekend), the workbench (the shelves come first so there's room for the workbench), and 2-3 desks. Somewhere in there I'm also planning on a hutch like piece (best way I can think of it) for work. We recently downsized office. We have about 25 lbs in a 10lb office. Ran out of floor space for furniture so I'm looking to built something to hold our plotter (think of an inkjet printer that can print on 24" wide paper) with a media bin and some storage for paper.

Hello, My name is John and I live in Rochester, NY.  I have gotten into woodworking in a big way in the past year, and have been using pocket hole joinery for several projects with good success.  However, I recently ran into a problem with a rail-and-stile joint in quarter sawn white oak.  While 7 of the joints were fine, on the eighth one, the grain in the stile started to split as I completed the installation of the screw near the outer edge.  The rails and stiles were 2" wide, so both screws were about 0.5" from the rail edge.  Has anyone run into a problem like this?    Thanks for any suggestions,

John

I'm Dave from Eastern Washington state. I'm retired from the Army and have been doing woodworking and scrollsawing on a regular basis since mid 2007.
I looked into this site today because I wanted to learn how to use my Kreg Jig Jr and ended up here. I also have a Kreg fence on my band saw that I am very happy with. The only drawback to being retired is not having enough of an income to get all the jigs or Kreg tools that I would like, but will eventually move up too.
Now that I know how to use my jig, I can start doing projects differently than with a micro pinner and angled, or routered cuts.

Howdy all

My name is JW live in KY and have been working with wood and home improvements for as long as i can remember. I have been doing changes and upgrades to my current house since the first day i unlocked the door. Was built in 1908 and has more wood related projects than i can count on all my fingers and toes.

Am a single dad with 2 great kids that make me smile every day. One boy one girl and both are always excited to help with the next project.

Currently in the process of a full kitchen remodel that include opening a wall, adding new countertop space, cabinets, 2 tier peninsula, cooktop and double ovens. Oh yeah also removed a chimney from the kitchen and room above.

Refinished the front door about a year ago and was very pleased with the results. What do you think?

look foward too meeting many of you

Hello from St. Louis Mo

John

Did woodworking in Highschool have seen the Kreg Jig on TV. Would love to get back into woodworking. Wife bought me a table saw in hope I would build her some cabinets. I this jig worth the cash or is it just smoke & mirrors.

John, If I didn't have the jig already, I would go out and buy it again. I have only used to make a small side table and absolutely loved the experience. I have wood and plans to make a larger side table using the jig to join eight inch wide boards to cut a 24 inch circle for the top. It is a dream to work with and if you follow the directions, works like a champ. What more could anyone say?

It is a good investment. I built a small table using pocketholes rather than mortise and tenons. It was a real time saver.

Great for making cabinets, best tool around for making and attaching faceframes to cabinets. Hundreds of uses, you will not be disappointed with purchase.

Hello All,

I'm Mike and I've been seriously woodworking for the past 15 years or so. Bought my first Kreg pocket hole jig a couple of years ago when building my kitchen cabinets. I wish I had bought one sooner. One of the best tool purchases I've made.

Hello, my name is Dennis Goodhue and I am an avid scroller and advancing my woodworking skills into other forms I hope.  I do a lot of puzzle making and also general woodcrafts with my scrollsaw.

I am always looking for patterns and plans of any types if anyone here can share patterns
