I am currently in the process of converting a 12' x 24' garage into my new much bigger work shop. my question is this , what do you use for heat in your workshops?

Being from Canada heat in the shop is a BIG thing.

wood is the only way to go poeple are always saling it for 35 to 45 a rank I use karesen and I go throw alot and bottle gas goes up in the winter

I wish I had this problem! Being in Adelaide, over the christmas/new years holidays the average temperature in my shop was around 30-45 degrees celsius. Converted to your language that is about 85-115!

Wood heat  .I never have two much scrap laying around and I will usually burn three maybe 2rounds of split fir.65-79# always when working

I mentioned this in another post (workshop size) but when we built our shop we had it well insulated (sprayed soy stuff) & put in an thermostatically controlled electric heater from a greenhouse supply company.  The low cut-off is 40 degrees (I believe, maybe 45) so it keeps the shop (mines small 160 sq. ft.) warm enough for glues, stains, etc. stored there & I crank it up a little when I'm out there in the winter.  I don't know where the thermostat is set right now (close to the bottom of the dial) but it's been 0 to 6 degrees in the mornings lately and the temp in the shop hovers around 40 to 46 degrees.  I looked for electric TC heaters at the big box stores and farm supplies and the thermostat was too high at the low cutoff.  Couldn't see why my shop needed to 60 when a body wasn't in there.

I use diesel fuel or kerosene when i'am not in my shop to keep it about 45-50  other wise wood scrap. But if fuel prices go up any more,   i will have to use all wood.

I heat my 16' X 22" shop with a natural gas fired Brute over head heater, with a sealed fire box.
