Hey all,
New to Kreg system, but not new to DIY stuff. Just bought a K5 system and added an HD jig as well. I'm attempting to build an awning that will have a 30 degree sloped roof. There will be a 2x4 against the wall, a 2x4 at the 30 degrees and a 2x4 joining the two together with one end cut at 60 degrees and then a straight 2x4 joining that structure to an identical one on the other side. The 90 and 180 degree joints, no issue, but not sure how to do the 30 and 60 degree joints. Think of the "P" in Def Leppard for a representation of each side structure. Thanks in advance.

Marcus,
I'd make test sample pieces.
Think of two such short sections, cut the desired angle, bring the joints together,
place the intended screw on top the sample test pieces,
and mark with a pencil where the pocket holes will be located.
The pocket hole location will be determined by the length of the screw---
The longer screw near the heel of the joint, and a shorter screw nearer the toe end of the mitered cut.
OPTION
make a pattern out of a section of cardboard stock, and place the screws on the pattern, so as to determine where the screws are to located, to achieve the strongest joint section.
i.e., the pattern to be 3.50" wide, as like that of a 2x4 is is actual 3.5" side.
NOTE: the further apart your screws are in the jointed mitered members, will result in a stronger joint.
A longer screw will result in deeper engagement into the joining member.
Thanks Ken. I assume the heel is the "thick" part of the joint and the toe is the "thin" part of the joint?
The pointed end is the "TOE"
The opp end is the "HEEL"
Thanks!

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
