Welcome Charles glad to hear from you. Yes the heated shop is nice. I burn wood so lots of scraps get the torch, and yes Kreg jig is a must in any shop.

Hi I'm Charlie from southern Ontario Canada. Been woodworking for about 6 years now and am just getting enought confidence to tackle some large and tricky projects. Looking forward to having a new shop with heat built this year. The Kreg Jig? you must have one on your shop, it will get you out of so much trouble and allow you to build pieces for craft shows etc. quickly and easily. I am a retired mechanic, service manager, body shop manager, sales rep, sales manager and general sales manager from the General Motors dealer network. Nice to meet all of you and happy woodworking to all.
Hi Jens, You have to proud of the fact that you started a discussion that has had so many responses. I was a truck mechanic for 25 years before injuries forced me to give that up, now I stay at home and build things in my basement
Hi Jens,
This is Mike from Hawaii. I am a social worker, but have left the practice arena to teach social work at the local university. I have been woodworking for about 15 years and try to challenge myself with new projects every year (mostly during semester breaks). Woodworking is a great way to get away from the stress of the job. As you might imagine, times are tough for a lot of people and spending your day helping others can be incredibly rewarding, but also quite taxing.
Hi-Rich from Tennessee now. Retired from driving mass transit bus in New Jersey eight years ago. Dabbled with woodworking until I retired, now have the time to really enjoy it.
I am a Mechanical Engineer for an aerospace company in Greenville, TX.

Glad to see some of my Union brothers out here, Brandyn. I work for AT&T as a Services Technician. I am one of the guys you see driving around in the van, climbing up poles, (or digging up your front yard) installing and repairing landlines and internet services. I am also Sec./Treas. of Local 3611, Communications Workers of America.
I'm currently design and engineer dental cabinets but before that I was a cabinet maker and a builder.
im in the construction business. remodeling mostly but do new construction as well. have been in the business for 8.5 yrs. love it! love building anything and everything.
I am a retired engineer/manager/account rep/business owner and a few other careers including a year of overseas consulting in Indonesia. I started woodworking as hobby when I was in Jr. High School. I now have a complete work shop and I am building what I call a "Man Cave" I converted a 100 year old building into my shop and ended up tearing down the carport and remainder of the house and building a 12 foot high garage and replacing the living quarters. I am currently doing the finish work including the cabinets and posting pictures and videos on this web site. I live in Okmulgee Oklahoma a town South of Tulsa and have been involved with computers since they were using punch cards.
I'm a Software Engineer/Project Manager. Woodworking and the shop let's me just get away from that kind of BS. With a piece of wood or a project, I can see the end result and touch the product. Way more fun.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
