Hi ED , did you try running the screw that is 2 1/2 " in from the toe, straight in just like the one that is 1/2 " from the heel , hope this helps , JIM !!
Hi ED, first of all it is not a bother, one wood worker helping another, I used my R 3 to make the holes !! Set my jig for 1 1/2 " and the drill bit for 1 1/2 " , then you hook it on the 45 degree edge with boards apart and clamp!!! On the 2 1/2 " hole line up the little mark on the out side hole in jig and the same on the 1/2 " hole, they are the same size as the k 4 holes , the one looks smaller because it is close to the edge, but you can still plug it and cut off the extra!! Not sure why they are showing it that way on the attachment you posted , the screw will all ways come through the other side !!! If you need I will take the test board a part and take a pic. of the set up with the R 3 and send it to you ,not a bother, hope this helps, let me know if I can be of any more help , and have a good day , JIM !!
ED you are very welcome, I try to help where and when I can, glad it worked for you and the best way to learn is to ask, all ways here to help , have a good shop day , JIM !!!
