"Ed, Pocket holes & screws can be placed in any verticle or horizontal position---so they are 90 degrees to the joint line. I'd suggest orientating the screws so that the screw points are pointed inward--- away from the edge. Adding…"

Hi everyone..I'm hoping someone can answer this question..I'm building a scrap lumber cart with dimensions of 48" long x24" high x 24" wide...My question is can I place vertical pocket holes to secure the back piece (24"x24") into the base panel.. (48" x 24")So the screw will be going into the base, will the joint line be strong enough, I will also be placing the traditional horizontal pocket holes to secure the back to each side of the cart?I was going to glue the bottom edges of all sheet…See More

"Carol, Yes it's for outside use, Yes it holds ice good I didn't insulate the top as the lid closes right on its box Believe it or not I've not put a finish on it but I will put a couple costs of poly on it"
