Chip, I grew up in Dumas from 1948 until 1962.  don't miss the area at all, especially the winters

Hi Robert, I am an Army vet also-1973-1977-but by the time I got done with my basic Combat Medic training and my advance medical AIT they decided to stop sending us to Vietnam. I want to say thank you for your service and God Bless you and your family. It gives me joy to realize that you have made a nice life with your family and with the woodworking hobby. I am in Joliet, IL-home of the Blues Bros, hehe- and I salute you. Stay strong brother!

Hi Tom

I live just down the road from you in Inman. I've been on this sight for about 4 years just haven't posted much. I'm a disabled Vietnam combat vet and I have 2 shops. One for building different things and one where I do work with my lathe. I build things mostly for family but on occasion someone wants me to do some thing for them. I tell them if they want it quick they better get some one else to do it because I have just 2speeds and they sure don't want to see the other one. Between my wife and trips to the VA Hospital I do manage to find time in the shops. Well so much for that welcome to this sight.

Tom from Landrum Sc. Long time woodworker. Have a shop that I operate under the name of Alpha & Omega Woodworking, but just as a hobby. I sometimes made a few dollars but I prefer to make what I want and if anyone wants to buy it great and if not that's okay.

Retired so not wanting to make this a job so I just do this for fun. Keeps me busy and I like being busy (when I want to). Key words are WHEN I WANT TO.  I  do a lot of projects  around the house and the little lady is always wanting me to do something and I do .

Keeps her happy and be busy so it works out great for both of use.

So now you know who I am and I will come to know you as time goes on.

Take care, keep building those wonderful projects, keep posting and keep smiling. Hope everyone has a great New Year and all your dreams and wishes come true.

Tom

G'day everybody from sunny South Australia where it's currently a warm 42C outside.

I'm Doc and I make wooden toys, rocking horses, kids workbenches, spinning wheels and other craft stuff but have a nice kreg jig that I use frequently for other projects too - building tables/cupboards and gear for my own workshop.

I have taken the liberty of informing my next of kin that I have just joined this forum - just in case she is looking for me in the next few days ;-)

Plenty of great tips and useful bits.

Many, in fact ALL the projects I have seen have been absolutely awesome. Great job everybody.

Thanks for having me.

Regards

Doc

Hello! My name is Leana and I am so interested in building accent furniture pieces.  I stumbled across Ana White's webside so I made a coffee table from her plans.  I love it.  Hubby and I bought a Kreg Jig junior so we do have some plans to make a few more things.  I am from Canada and it is bloody cold here today!!

Hello, my name is Scott from Cedar Bluff, Va. I am a beginner to woodworking. I just purchased the DIY project kit. I am looking forward to learning as much as I can!

Hello everyone, just getting my shop started, can't wait to see what I can learn on here.

   Dennis

Hello, my name is Charlie.  I live in the Atlanta area, and have a small basement shop. I've been doing woodworking for about two years now, so I'm fairly new at this thing. So far, I've mostly built small projects such as gun racks, napkin holders, candle holders, etc. My biggest project has been an end table made of cherry, which I am very proud of. I have just purchased the Kreg K4, so I'm very anxious to use it. My reason for joining this community is to learn from people who have a lot more experience than I do.

Good morning, I'm James from Indiana brand new to wood working. My dad has tons of experience and makes so many amazing things. He uses a lathe more than anything for pens, ornaments, salt n pepper mills etc.. I have always wanted to learn but no time no space and no tools. So recently I purchased a log home in southern indiana and want to furnish it with my own work. Just finished a table that my wife loves. We wanted a table to sit 8-10 so I built it 8'x3 1/2' out of 120 year old reclaimed cedar from a barn. Did use some pine 2x4 for support and 3/4 mdf board. I will post the table and bench to see what everyone else thinks. Joinery was done with the kreg jig and made up my own plans for it all was a bit risky but it is the strongest table and bench I have ever touched. Anyway happy to be here and learn more tips n tricks and meet some great people. James

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
