Kreg Owners' Community

Hi - sorry, but I searched this site for featherboard info, but I just couldn't find what I was looking for.
Two questions:

1) How do you loosen the wedge without taking off the knobs? Mine just spin off and I have to use pliers. I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong here...

2) I didn't see any best practices for how to use this product. Basically, where do you like to place the feather board in relation to the blade (even, before, etc), and how much pressure on the workpiece do you use?

Thanks,
Kevin

Featherboards should be before the blade. There should be just enough pressure to hold the work piece against the fence.
Thanks Hugh - Right after I posted this I saw this exact featherboard on Woodsmith Shop.

I'm still wondering how people here 'deactivate' the wedge system? I don't feel like I'm over tightening it, but maybe I'll experiment with just barely tightening it? Seems like a product though that you would want to be very secure...

Kevin,

It appears as if you have received a defective wedge lock. Occasionally these expand in the molding process and the end result is a wedge lock that pretty much gets stuck in the track once it is locked down and doesn't release. If you want to send me a message with your address I would be more than willing to send you a replacement as soon as possible.
What hardware do you need to buy to attach a feather board to the tracks in the Kreg Router table?

All of mine stick but I just push down on the wedge and they release.
