Kreg Owners' Community

I recently bought a Kreg k3 system from Woodcraft in Fort Myers in Florida. I'm very happy with it and have made a few projects with it. My question is, on the side of the drill guide where you set the wood thickness the graduated markings are not coloured in and can sometimes be a little tricky to read .... yet I have seen on some videos that the markings on jigs are actually in white. Is this a different type of jig or has mine just had the paint job missing? Thanks for any help you can offer. Graeme

Hi Craeme; I had the same thought when I purchased my jig. I found someplace, not sure where now, to use "white out" that is used in typing to correct a mistyped letter... you brush across the marks that you want enhanced and wipe off the access, after it has dried..and the deep impression stays white. Jim
The Jigs come without the white. What you see in the video is done by the process James stated.
That's solved that one ....... thanks for your replys. lt seems like a great mod, I'll have to get some white out.
Thanks.
Mix up flour and water to a paste and rub over ,let dry completely and then wipe it with clean towel. It will last for longest time
at the price Kreg charges fo the tool it should be easier to read.
Considering the thought and quality that Kreg puts into thier products. I was surprised at the lack of colored markings for the depth settings myself. The white markings on your pocket jigs would give them the professional finishing touch that I would expect from Kreg. I have a number of Kreg products, including a router table with fence, and a miter fence for my table saw . I am very happy with all of them, they are very accurate and useful tools. Keep up the good work Kreg.
