Hello, my name is Tim Emery and I'm a beginner DIYer but now that I have a Kreg I'm planing on working on some projects. The first one I would like to do is a work bench so if any one has easy planes please share them with me. I live in Oregon so I'm hopping to work all winter in my shop. I only have hand tools and the Kreg I also buy a blade runner for cutting wood.
The formula shows that you should be using 1-1/4"

Hello All, my name is Tony, and I am located in middle Georgia. New to the Kreg Jig and just getting used to it.

I am new at woodworking but working at it most every day.

I habe built three work benches, one end table and 4 rolling book shelves.

My biggest issue is the formula to use when selecting the proper jig setting and the proper screw depth.

If I use 3/4" wood, I set the Jig at the 3/4 mark, set the screw depth at the 3/4 mark, then I plan to use a 1 1/2 " screw.

why is it that I always get a drill through when joing two pieces together, end of the screw comes through the wood?

What am I doing incorrectly?

Hello,

My name is Tom. I am 76 years old who is just now getting into "useful woodworking". I am looking forward to everything I will learn and to the mistakes that will teach me much more.

Welcome Tom. Rest assured, I am capable of butchering more wood than you.  :-)

Hi! My name is Steve. I got into woodworking while remodeling my house, which has been a 25 year project and still continuing. Lately I have been building carts and cabinets for my shop with the Kreg pocket hole jig and other hardware from Kreg. I hope to learn more by getting involved in the community.

My name is Reatha and have been woodworking for several years. I have mostly used the scroll saw in the past. Since I have discovered the kreg jig, I have been going crazy making a dining room table, headboard, side table and a workbench. I absolutely love the kreg jig and am looking for other things to make. I received a automax clamp for my birthday ans was thrilled! My friends thought I was crazy but I didn't need anymore jewelry.

Hi, guys...I need some help, please? I am attempting to build an art table I saw on Pinterest...the concept is basic and simple...and I have the "parts" ....but for some reason am struggling with it conceptually. I keep thinking I can use my Kreg jig to attach the top to the bottom but cannot figure out how/where.

It consists of 2 small bookcases, (24.68"w x 35"h x 9.31"d) and one (1) 36" x 80" hollow core slab unfinished door. Picture the 2 bookcases as sawhorses....separate them and lay the top and bottom of the door across them. The door is 36" wide so there will be some overlap....about 5-6" on each side.

What is the problem? Well. I have to build the bookcases first (easy instructions) but I cannot figure out where to put my pocketholes to,attach the bookcases to the door. If I could use the door as the top it would be easier for me because I would put the pocketholes on the upper ends of the bookcase sides. But the top is getting in my way, conceptually....it will be like a top over a top.

I am sure there is an easy way to do this...but I need help?
Thanks! Ideas??deb

Deb:

I think the best way to do this is to put upwards facing pocket holes in the gables of the bookcases prior to assembly. Then the screws would go upwards into the door. The door is hollow but there is some structured framing and you could have to make sure the screws go into the framing inside the door and not just through the veneer of the door.

Sounds like a fun project.

Hello,

I'm Mary, I live in Florida and have recently discovered the joy of making my own furniture. For my first project I made two daybeds for our guest room. I kept the door locked so my husband wouldn't see them until I was finished...(because I wasn't sure what I was doing...lol). Anyway, they turned out great, he was very impressed and I haven't stopped yet! I have been using the Kreg Jig R3 but hope to upgrade this Christmas.

That looks great! Love the pattern and the color.

Gorgeous!

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
