Hello All, my name is Tony, and I am located in middle Georgia. New to the Kreg Jig and just getting used to it.
I am new at woodworking but working at it most every day.
I habe built three work benches, one end table and 4 rolling book shelves.
My biggest issue is the formula to use when selecting the proper jig setting and the proper screw depth.
If I use 3/4" wood, I set the Jig at the 3/4 mark, set the screw depth at the 3/4 mark, then I plan to use a 1 1/2 " screw.
why is it that I always get a drill through when joing two pieces together, end of the screw comes through the wood?
What am I doing incorrectly?
Hello,
My name is Tom. I am 76 years old who is just now getting into "useful woodworking". I am looking forward to everything I will learn and to the mistakes that will teach me much more.
Welcome Tom. Rest assured, I am capable of butchering more wood than you. :-)
Hi! My name is Steve. I got into woodworking while remodeling my house, which has been a 25 year project and still continuing. Lately I have been building carts and cabinets for my shop with the Kreg pocket hole jig and other hardware from Kreg. I hope to learn more by getting involved in the community.

Deb:
I think the best way to do this is to put upwards facing pocket holes in the gables of the bookcases prior to assembly. Then the screws would go upwards into the door. The door is hollow but there is some structured framing and you could have to make sure the screws go into the framing inside the door and not just through the veneer of the door.
Sounds like a fun project.
Hello,
I'm Mary, I live in Florida and have recently discovered the joy of making my own furniture. For my first project I made two daybeds for our guest room. I kept the door locked so my husband wouldn't see them until I was finished...(because I wasn't sure what I was doing...lol). Anyway, they turned out great, he was very impressed and I haven't stopped yet! I have been using the Kreg Jig R3 but hope to upgrade this Christmas.
That looks great! Love the pattern and the color.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…

Several months ago, I purchased the Kreg K4MS so that I could build the Lego Table as outlined on the companion "buildsomething" web site which exclusively uses pocket hole construction. I have considerable experience with conventional…
