Sonny the answer is, move the collar down the shank the same distance as the increase in screw length, meaning the pocket is now shallower, be aware this alters the complete aspect of pocket holes in your project and may lead to other problems, meaning heads closer to the entry point!
You need to /should do a test drill using exactly the same material and to ensure its the result you want.
Then it may require a final adjust of the collar to suit your needs anyway.
Wait and buy the screws it worth it Other wise if your really despirate drop by and I can give you some!!
Thanks for the reply, Robert... Definitely gonna do some experimenting over the weekend. Even though this is worth knowing for future reference, the moral to this story is to check my "bill of materials" BEFORE I get started on a project... :-)

Hello My name is Julian and I live in Dacula, Ga. I am a complete novice in woodworking but consider myself very handy. I got my Kreg Jig for Christmas and have already made the work bench and started garage cabinets and just recently noticed that this forum existed. Looking forward to see and hear about everyone's ideas and projects. Thanks
My name is Sonny and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Been a Kreg Jig owner since the company introduced the all aluminum Kreg Jig way back when. Still have it and still use it!!! Been very happy with the concept of pocket-hole joinery ever since. The process just works!!!! Definitely consider myself a novice woodworker. Tend to think that I like collecting--or amassing--woodworking tools more than I really like the woodworking. But it sure makes the effort of woodworking a whole lot easier when you have the right tools!!!
Hi...My Name is Deirdre and I've never done any woodwork, but was motivated by Ana White's DIY website. I've already started my first project and will be giving the Kreg Jig a try. I bought the Kreg Jr. I hope it doesn't limit my project size.
Good Afternoon:
I am a very inexperienced carpenter. I bought the Kreg jig to help me build a Fish Tank stand for my 120 Gallon Aquarium. But first I will build the Workbench, that looks similiar to the stand I want to build. It's hard to believe the options that come with this Kreg Jig and related tools. Bruce
Good choice, Bruce.

Hi Folks,
I have just joined the Kreg Forum.
I am a home hobbyist with an egineering background.
I have built a Ron Paulk work bench and my own design of table saw with unique parallelogram fence.
I work with plywood by choice in order to keep weight to a minimum but facing the usual problems of panel bowing by routed cross bracing.

Hello, My name is Keith and I have used the simple Kreg jig for several years now. I just purchased the master system because I have a few projects in mind and I think it will speed things up substantially. This weekend, I will be building a lectern similar to the one posted by "skulldigger" for my wife who is a 4th grade schoolteacher. I am a 54 year old CPA living in Lafayette, LA.

Hello, my name is Bruce and I live in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada. I have been dabbling in wood for a lot of years now but it wasn't until I retired in 2005 that I was able to build my own shop in the back yard and fill it with all the toys we use to make sawdust. That's where I spend most of my free time. I have been using the Kreg pocket hole system for about 10 years and I love it - especially for face frame work.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
