I have a Hitachi C12RSH 12" Sliding Dual Compound Miter Saw, and it won't stay at a bevel. I tried the lock in the back and it just doesnt seem like it can hold the weight of the saw. So if i tilt it at 30 Degrees, it just falls down to a 45.
Any one know any secrets?

Sounds like its defective
Matt,
Do you have the manual for this machine?
Something has come loose or is missing from the tilt adjustment locking lever.
(Check the owners manual parts section, and note that all the intended parts are in place).
Check the tilt lock lever, located on the back.
The saw can be tilted up to 46 degrees, left or right.
Unlock the lever, tilt to the desired tilt angle, and lock-in-place.
A micro adjustment knob, is a rack and pinion design, that is just below the locking lever.
Rotate the adjusting knob, to the desired tilt angle, and lock the lever in place.
This saw is a monster---big, a bit bulky and heavy, and is best left in its cutting station and not bounced around the jobsite.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
