So now that the Kreg K3 pockethole jig is available again, will it be offered by itself or do we have to buy the toolbox package with all of the other extras that we might not need?

I mean, $299.99 is too steep a price to pay if all you need or want is an extra jig and drill guide.

We are selling the K3 base on our web site. If you already have a drill guide and accessories from your K4, then you can buy the K3 base by itself and use your other products with it. You'll find the K3 base here: http://www.kregtool.com/Kreg-K3-FrontSided-Clamping-Base-Prodview.html

The K3 jig has the clamp lever at the front of the base; whereas, the

K4 jig has the clamp lever at the rear of the base.

I would consider the K-3 at that price, but their shipping costs are to high.

Excellent !!!  Is the drill guide also available by itself as well?  If so, please provide a link to that too.   I already have a K3 Master Jig system and have been using it for several years.  However, I recently took on a rather large kitchen cabinet project that I believe would justify my setting up a pockethole drilling bench with 2 or 3 K3 bases with drill guides for production type work.  I love the K3's capability to clamp from the front on large panels, unlike the K4, which requires me to walk around the bench and clamp from the back side.

I broke down and bought the K3 jig my wooden tool jig stand is to big to move around. The wooden tool jig takes to much room in the shop. Hopefully it will come this week. I miss portability .

Gary,

Make an alternate---a smaller version.

Or, make a base, or platform, from 1x stock---

of a size suitable to fit into your space and accommodate your projects pieces.

The length of the base could be 36'', which will suffice for most project pieces.

Fasten the drilling jig to the base.

1'' thick spacers can be added, on each side of the jig, so as to bring the workpiece up to the same level as the jig base where the workpiece rests.

That doesn't fix the problem with the k4 and large panels. I have a k4  bought the k3 so I simple need mount k3 to a board.

I received my barebones k3 removed the k4 drill guide block they don't even give you the screw than anchors the drill guide. All is well I can see I will like the k3 better .

You can get the drill guide here if you don't want to swap out from k4.

I must apologies the jig did come with the anchor screw to hold the drill guide also had a drill depth collar, Allen key & the DVD instructional video. Just thrown in a cardboard box and accessories wedged in bottom box flap and newspaper wrapped around the jig.   It was until I took the paper out that I found them. I was getting ready for recycling the cardboard.
