Hi, I am Mark Schurman from Bellevue NE.  I started working with wood in the early 90s.  I got interested in scroll saw work mostly.   Due to retirement from the military, a move across country, then a divorce and remarriage I ended up selling most of my equipment and now my new wife wants me to get it started again. Since I wasn't the big furniture builder, I knew nothing about joinery.  I had a nice sized gift card to Lowes and decided to buy the Kreg Jig system and easily built my new work benches for my small garage.  I still need to acquire my scroll saw, but in the mean time, I am finding neat easy projects to build with the jig.

My name is Mickey, I live in central Arkansas. I just married and now have a wife and home needing attention. Starting from zero tools, I've gained a table saw and basic hand/power tools. First project is a work bench. I was given a hard maple laminated top needing legs Planning to use my Kreg Jr with 2x4s

Hello Mickey,

It looks like you now have all the essential tools and support to do just about anything, so lets now see the results !!

Oh and by the way welcome to you and the wife to the Kreg Community, I and we are patiently awaiting the results of you work.

Lots to enjoy here !!! you wont be disappointed!!

Hey Mark,

I sent a welcome previously but it must have been eaten by the dog!!

Any way Welcome, don't be too concerned about life's downturns and the such.

Woodworking is one of the best kept "Mens Secret Business" going, beats just about any professional $ driven help yet.

Enjoy and lets see some more pictures of the nice workbench

Hi, My name is Ann and I just retired from 30 years of government work.  Now, I can finally become a wood worker.  I've done enough over the years to know what not to do, so I'm looking for advice and tips on how to get better.

First tip, Ann, get a Kreg jig if you dont already have one :)

Hello:
My name is Bryan, I live in Stillwater MN. I just bought the  kreg master system. I am looking forward to learning any thing i can from all of you.

Hi Bryan,

Welcome aboard.

Obtain some scrap and cutoff pieces---
and ''go-to-it''.

Making up several test pieces, 'til you get the hang of it.

Once assembled, the test pieces can be disassembled and recycled.

Most important---

"have fun building".

PS---there's answers to questions, in the forums, you haven't yet asked.

Hi, my name is Marcelino I'm a beginner  and I'm looking forward to creating new projects.  just got the Master now i just need some wood and a plan.

Welcome Marcelino,

Wood is available just about anywhere, plans well this site is full of them, just pick your topic and then search away some are pictorial some just text and the up market ones have detailed sketch up type attachments.

Failing that just build something for practice then de Kreg it all then do it again.

You need to understand the welfare of your Kreg Jig needs to be maintained.

We cannot have kreg jigs thinking they never get used, and  a sure sign of inactivity is the Jig starts to turn blue then needs resuscitation.

Other than that I can ensure you you will enjoy your time as a member.

And possibly wonder at times about the mental state of one or two of its members.

Regards

Robert Brennan

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro
