Hello all and thank you for allowing me to be part of your community.  My name is Joe Boller.  I live just north of Austin, Tx. in the big town of Pflugerville.  Yes we are on the map but you have to look real close.  I'm 61 years old going on 17.  At least that's what the Grand Kids say.  I've always loved woodworking, nothing perfect but I'm not perfect.  At least that's what the Grand Kids say.  My cuts are almost straight, but I like beer almost as much as woodworking.  The Wife has been pretty good to me the past year or so and bought me a 10" Porter Cable portable table saw, a 12" miter saw and just recently the Kreg Master Kit.  YeeHaw!  The next item on my wish list is a router.  Now I just need someplace to set all this cool stuff up so come spring 2013 I'm going to build another small shed (10'x12' or so).  I don't have a big yard.  Three more years I'll have my pension and more time to cut more wood.  Life's good!  That's about all for now.  Have fun and be careful.  Keep all your fingers and toes.      Joe

Welcome.  I'm turning 59 this week.  I have a space problem as well. But I do okay. Don't have a table saw but wish I did. I don't have a pension so I guess I will be working for a long time.  Grrrr.....

Yeah, a table saw comes in real handy for the long rip cuts and the wide cross cuts that my 12" miter saw can't handle.  My next project is going to be is a work bench.  Something small enough to be portable and big enough to be functional.  My better half also bought me the Rockwell Jaw horse.  It's a very handy tool.  It will hold just about anything.

Hey Tony and welcome.  Must be great working at the family tool store.  Do you get a discount?  I've been woodworking for a number of years.  Nothing fancy, just my own unique creations.  Usually turns out pretty good, as long as you don't put a level or square on it.  Then you would see all my inperfections.  Just have fun with it, I do.

Nice tool---very handy for many tasks.

For some jobs, you'll want to figure out a means to secure those legs to a solid foundation or base.

For some operations, it wobbles and tilts.

Hey Ken,

I could see that happening with a lot of weight off center.  I haven't run in to that problem yet.  It has a pretty wide stance and holds everything that I use it for real well.  I made a plywood base supported by 2x4s and bolted my miter saw to it and clamp it in the jaw horse.  Works perfect for that.

Joe can relate to age and no retirement, ill be 62 on sat. Born on Friday the 13th chuckle. I'm hoping in 10 yrs to be able to retire lol. But I'm sitting up shop now I bought two 8x42 ft shipping cont. the ones on semis. I'm going to connect them and cut them open between. Instant workshop @ cheap price. Also I've developed great relationship with local pawn shop, tools at super discounts.
