Mounting your jig

Hello, I just purchased my Kreg Jig. Can some of you experienced users tell me how you mounted your jig? Did you mount it to a bench? Or a piece of plywood or something and then clamp that to a bench? Or is there a better way for storage, mounting and using the jig?

This is a SUPER idea. Do you have your measurements. Is it 18" or 14" on each side of the jig?

I was able to make a tabletop jig that i mounted the Kreg Jig on and it also has supplies such as screws and plugs for my projects. This particular jig helped me work with any size board so that i could slide it along the length the jig onehanded and drill the holes i needed to join pieces or simply support the piece comfortably.

What are you using to hold the stops in the track? I obviousely got the wrong things when I got the big knobs to use with a 1/4x20 bolt. It'll just be in the way.

I designed and built this jig for my K3 Master System. It clamps to my workbench and is easily removed when not in use.

The jig is composed of 3/4" prefinished maple plywood, pocket screwed together in an L shape. I fabricated a vacuum coupling using Shop-Vac 906-87 Universal Tool Adapter and then added the Kreg KMS7506 mini trak and Kreg KJSS material support stops. I drilled a small hole in the top to insert the allen wrench used to adjust the drill bit depth stop.

Hello all!

Just joined this great site after recently purchasing the Master Kit which I will mainly be using to construct cornhole sets. Yesterday I took some time to built a jig for my Kreg jig and feel this setup will really aid in time savings as well as overall quality of construction. May not be the best picture, but I'll try to get some better ones while it's in use.

Great question. One good way to have your Kreg Jig ready at the drop of a hat is to mount the jig (using the 4 screw holes in the base) directly to a small piece of plywood which can be quickly thrown on top of your workbench and clamped down to secure. Some owners will also drill small holes in the plywood to hold their drill bit, driver bit, allen wrench, etc. It's up to you to customize as much as you'd like!

It'd be great to see what some of the owners here have come up with! Post some photos, guys!

Here's and idea, I clamp the set up to the work bench when I need it. Seems to work ok, saves the space, rather than being permanently mounted.

That is one great video. I didn't know you cannot purchase a Kreg Jig in the UK. Even so, I can see that the guy really likes the Kreg Jig, which is understandable. Another happy user!

Here is a solution that I came up with for my shop. You can find it on the projects page under Jim's Jigged Workbench.
The top of the bench is two layers of 3/4 material sitting atop the cabinets. I mounted my jig atop a piece of MDF that I dadoed so that the total height to the surface of the jig was level to the two layers of material. I then notched the top to fit the jig like a puzzle piece and notched the second layer to accommodate the MDF base.
