I am new to wood working and don't know the tips & tricks & tools yet.
I got the Kreg Jig system & the precision miter. I decided to 1st make the jeff devlin book shelf. Got all the wood and got started with doing the cuts and hit a snag right off the bat. I bought a Grizzly table saw and the fence only goes to 25 inches - the plans require 34 1/2 in cuts.
I looked at the Kreg rip tool, but that only goes to 24 in - I'm stuck, how do I make the larger cuts?

What your saying is theoretically impossible . You loose and 1/8 inch on each cut so you can't get 4 12 inch pieces out of a 4ft wide piece of plywood the last piece would be 3/8 short. or they would be 11 7/8 each. His origanal question he wanted to cut a 34 1/2 just subtract 34 1/2 from 48 and cut the difference 13 1/2 but subtract 1/8 for blade width make it 13 3/8.

You have to rip the sheet into 4 12" wide x 96" long sections. If you have a circular saw, you can cut the back. have you watched the video on the bookcase? He goes into detail how he makes his cuts.
They have to be trimed to size, and the edges cleaned up. The 4 panels are stiil oversized, 12" was just a ruff cut.
Full sheets of plywood are 48" wide. So if you need a 34 1/2" use the rip-cut set it to 13 1/2" minus blade
width.
Thanks for all the tips. Got the ripping figured out, but going to need a circular to do the cross cuts. Next project will have to be a workbench I can see.
Walt,
You can use a circular saw to make rip and cross-cuts---
I do it frequently and use straight-edge guides--
make or buy the guides.

How did everything work out.. ?
Hi WALT, I do a lot of sheet cutting by my self , and I use a set of saw horses with 2x4s 5 foot long . You can set your saw to cut a little more then the sheet and if you cut through the 2x4s they can be replaced after a lot of cuts. I use an 8 foot straight edge and be careful not to cut into the metal brackets on the saw horses !!! And remember safety first, hope this helps you , JIM

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
