Thanks Jody I started this just to see where it would end and had no idea it would be 1700 views in a yr or so
Great idea for a thread - thanks!
I'm a Boston-based freelance designer, mostly websites, graphics, logos etc. I worked at big agencies for many years, all the way to exec status...but I've got young kids now. So I decided to reprioritize a bit and go freelance back in March. So far so good!
I came to Boston in '89 to go to Berklee - I'm an active musician, partial to loud guitars and classic hard rock. You can see some of my noodling here:

Anyway, going freelance has opened up more time for family, guitars, and sawdust. I'm a beginning woodworker, but I hope to develop some valuable skills over time so I can spend less time in front of the computer and more time making stuff that lasts!

Well Jens I guess I should reply.
I worked for Boeing for 20 odd years mainly managing Communications Sites, be it for the ADF (Australian Defence Forces) on HF Radio.
The RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) Airborne radar system, or managing Test Sites for the construction of the New Submarines.
This was originally a Rockwell company but was sold off to Boeing.
An aircraft company involved in submarines I hear you say? well it was the communications side only.
I have always had an interest in woodworking, manly because you can pick up a piece of wood and turn it into some thing really nice.
I like working with timber some much actually worked at a mobile sawmill just to obtain timber.
Its still seasoning but will be useable by Christmas 2011.
I also use recycled timber, mainly hardwoods but its a test of your skills to produce furniture and the likes from somthing that started out as a freight pallet, not to mention the possibility of hitting foreign objects which require very close examination.
So whats my day time job well I am currently assisting a one man business building Cubby Houses, and he does a fantastic job. If you have moment check out Cullens Cubbies and Forts Bulimba Queensland Australia.
Otherwise its working in my shed for myself.
Regards
Robert Brennan

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
