Kreg Owners' Community

Often times we receive photos of projects our customers have built through the mail (likely customers who have yet to discover this community!), but we don't often receive actual projects they've built!  Earlier this week though, that's what happened!

After a bit of confusion, we figured it out...  It's really quite unique...  Can any of you guess what it is?  (the answer has now been posted, here!)

Oh so close! I hadn't thought of the check. I am wondering if you will send it back in the same package??
Very very clever. This should become the standard for sending in bits. I had no idea you could send wood through the mail... and for $2.58!
And BTW... I had on my list for my Friday shopping trip to Lowes a multi-mark and a new bit so I could send mine in to be sharpened. Now with this idea I know what I will make over the weekend (cast off oak is ready and waiting)! Please post details!
And... I have to ask, did the Kreg employee who opened this have any initial reservations about it?
Kim,
Yes, the Kreg employee who opens the mail was quite surprised at first, and wasn't quite sure what to think. When she figured out what it was, and that it could be opened, she was just glad he hadn't glued the joint as well! ;)

Not sure about the likelihood of a package like this traveling through the USPS system without being sent back to the sender... but definitely very cool, and a great way to keep your bit safe during travel!

Here's a bit of an exclusive tip for our valuable community members planning to buy a new drill bit. Try and find a Kreg Jig Mini kit... instead of just the KJD bit. They're only a few bucks more than the bit itself, so it's like getting a free Mini jig with your purchase! (a tip you'll only find here)
Good guesses everyone! What a clever idea! I've seen wooden postcards, but never a wooden envelope! Looks like Terry and I were right about the bit holder part. I wonder if the hole for the check is deep enough to fit the square driver?

Thanks for the tip on the mini kit! It sure would be nice to have it to use this weekend!
(Blog on this weekend's project to follow)
I didn't know Kreg will sharpen the bits for us. I'll be using this service in the future. Thanks Kreg!

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
