As a beginner, I'm having a hard time deciding what screws to stock up on.

There are the Washer Head and than Pan Head.

Than you have #6 and up.

At any time, I could be working with plywood or 10/4 Walnut.

I understand the fine thread/coarse thread and the screw length but what size is my biggest question at this time such as the #6,8,10 etc.

Any and all help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED! :)

Thanks

Dustin

I think we all might have a few screws loose James! :)

I understand the number to mean the shank size but even knowing that, when is it correct to use a #6 vs. #10 etc.??
