"Thanks for the chart Michael. I think we all might have a few screws loose James! :) I understand the number to mean the shank size but even knowing that, when is it correct to use a #6 vs. #10 etc.??"

"I think the #6, 8, 10 etc, refers to the size of the head. Most Kreg screws I believe is #8. My head size is about 20, which is why a lot of my screws are "loose". LOL"

Screws....Screws....Screws....

As a beginner, I'm having a hard time deciding what screws to stock up on. There are the Washer Head and than Pan Head. Than you have #6 and up. At any time, I could be working with plywood or 10/4 Walnut. I understand the fine thread/coarse thread and the screw length but what size is my biggest question at this time such as the #6,8,10 etc. Any and all help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED! :) Thanks DustinSee More

Shelf

This shelf unit is 4'Wx51"Hx27"D. First project with my Kreg Jr. I stood on the second cross member from the bottom just to see how strong the joint was. I'm 145lbs and it held me just fine. Even gave it a few bounces to test it and again it held.
