Does anyone know if Kreg will be making a right angle clamp for the Micro Jig allowing work with 1/2" stock?  If not, does anyone have suggestions as to how to uniformly file the end of the standard 3/8" Right Angle Clamp to properly fit the Micro Jig holes?

Joseph, at this time we have no official plans to produce this product. We have had this request from several customers though so it is on the radar of our product development team. If this product is released in the future, community members here will be the first to hear about it!
Thank you for your prompt reply. In the meantime, any suggestions on how I might UNIFORMLY shape a 3/8" Right Angle Clamp to fit?

Did you ever try to re-size the right-angle clamp?  Would a steady hand at the grinder work?  Then, some sort of trick ferrule would be needed to 're-size' it back to the original.  Hey, it's never as easy as it should be!

It seems like some sort of "adapter" sleeve could be made to attach to the clamp and fit in the Micro Jig pocket hole.  I realize that this would reduce the clamping capacity but since we are talking predominately about 1/2" stock I don't think it would be that big of a deal.  I wouldn't care.  Just my thought.
Go to your local farm store or hardware store.  Buy one welding clamp, one 3/8 bolt however long you like, and one flat washer to fit the clamp pad on the clamp.  Now take and cut one clamp pad off of the clamp to accommodate the 3/8 bolt with the head cut off and weld the bolt to the clamp then weld the washer to the clamp pad that you did not cut off, grind smooth.  I would post a pic of the one I made, but it is at a job site with my Kreg jig.

The right angle clamp, pointed/necked down end is 0.350" dia, for the standard 3/8" size clamp.

The micro drill jig drill bit is 0.281" dia---(75% of the standard 3/8" size).

A right angle clamp, for the micro jig clamping, can be made from the standard right angle clamp.

Machine the pointed/necked down end,  from 0.350" dia to 0.265/0.250" dia.

Machining can be accomplished by a filing or grinding method.

Carefully remove the metal, evenly around the perimeter.

When grinding, work slowly, and in light even passes around the perimeter, so as not to overheat the metal.

Final passes can be accomplished by filing, so as to make the finish ''smooth''.

Use a round gage, with a 0.250/0.265" ID, (tubing or the like, will suffice), and frequently check the OD of the pin, as you're grinding/filing.  Make the final finish smooth, with a fine cut finishing file.

A final polishing operation, may be performed, if desired.

Chamfer the newly ground pin with a 1/32" radius, so as to facilitate insertion of the clamp, into the drilled holes in the wood.

NOTE:  The clamps are finished with a zinc coating, to prevent rusting---grinding/filing will remove the protective finish;

therefore, a suitable protective coating needs to be applied, so as to prevent rusting.

(Auto body metal primer paint, or the like, will suffice.  Re-coating the finish can be re-applied, as needed).

OR---

obtain or make an adapter that will fit over the standard clamp pin (0.350" dia)---swaged or necked-down for the smaller dia pin (0.265/0.250").

NOTE:  the new clamp pin will have to be shortened accordingly.  Affix the adapter to the clamp pin, by drilling a hole thru the side and inserting a pin---(1/16" dia metal dowel, or common equiv dia finishing nail, will suffice).

Sorry I stated the wrong size bolt in my earlier post.  Use whatever size bolt you need.  from other post it sopunds like about a 1/4 inch or so.
