Hey!
What happened to the long thread (80 to 90 posts as I recall) about Kreg's decision to discontinue the front-lever K3 jig and revert to the back-lever K4 style?
Every post I read (except KregRep's) was strongly against this change. Too strongly for management perhaps?
It appears to have been censored out of existence!
What happened to the concept of "discussion"?

Thanks, yes l seen the k3 on thetoolstore.ca, don't matter canadian or american l was thinking in line with prices but think same either way.
I like the k3 because of hold down handle in front, other than that likely the same.
One l have now bought used 5-6 years ago silver think is from 1980's lol.

So what was the conclusion of this discussion? Which jig is better, k3 ork4?
I don;t think you can say either one is better than the other, they both do amazing jobs of joining material. I think it comes down to preference. If I had acquired the K4 instead of the K3 I probably would have been just as pleased.

Interesting, I asked my wife to get me the latest for Christmas, she bought me the kreg Jig Master System. The box cover & kit inside is clearly what you call a K3. From reading the instructions my conclusion is that the Kreg Jig Master System still comes with the K3 & kit & that the K4 is maybe sold as a stand alone Kreg Jig. Either way I have the K3 with dust collection, material work stop, one face clamp, etc. & I couldn't be happier..

I can assure you that no one from Kreg deleted the thread, as I am the only one with account-authority to do so. After reading your post and being unable to find it myself, I looked into this and found that Robert M., the gentleman who had started the thread you're asking about, has deleted his account. As such, I believe all of his posts, threads, etc. have been deleted along with. It seems unfortunately that this is a feature of Ning which can not be changed and the data can not be recovered.

Sounds to like you have the K2 jig which, in my opinion, is one of Kreg's finest. Hang on that one, you'll likely be going back to it. I use my K2 more often than any other Kreg jig that I own.
I was tempted by the K3 when it came out but even though the front mounted lever sounded like a good idea, it seemed to be a solution to a problem that does not really exist. I have always found that any workpiece which was so large that I would not be able to reach the clamp on my K2 or K2000 jigs was also kind of heavy and/or awkward to handle. I find it much easier to move a small lightweight Rocket Jig or even the Mini Jig and clamp it in place than repeatedly repositioning an oversize work piece. In extreme situations, where clamping is difficult, the Rocket Jig can even be attached to the workpiece with a single screw. To me the smaller jigs eliminate any need for a front mounted clamping handle.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
