Making a Corner Cabinet

I am in the process of making a corner cabinet but instead of using the easier way of butting the back sides of the cabinet, I want to make an angle backside. Cutting the backside is easy but I cant get the Kreg in the proper position to drill the pockets. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can do this?

Can you post a photo of what you're talking about so we can better understand the situation?
Remember, if you have a Kreg Jig or Kreg Jig Master System you can remove the Drill guide from the base completely. Then you can actually screw it to the workpiece if there's no good way to clamp it. If you have the Kreg Jig Jr. You can do the exact same thing... screw it into place on the workpiece.

I've included the Quick Start Guide here in PDF form. By utilizing your Spacer block and a SPS screw, you can secure the jig to the workpiece w/out a clamp and drill your holes from there! Good luck.

This is the picture of the cabinet. The back piece is cut 45 degree at both ends. Both back side pieces are cut at 45 degree also. So when both the back sides and the back piece are put together they form a right angle to the wall. The problem I am having is creating the pocket hole using the jig. I have the K-4 jig

Are you mitering the back pieces at 45 degrees and then putting them together? Is there a picture of the cabinet from the top so we can get a better idea of what you are doing or maybe a drawing. If I could see this I'm sure I would be able to help you figure it out.

Here's a bit more information on joining mitered corners with the Kreg Jig:

Not real sure what you're trying to do,but here goes.Pre-drill and countersink holes from the back side,then using #8 screws,secure the back to the sides. Drill these holes at the proper angle. Don't use the jig at all.

The problem I discovered with this process is you get end grain in the middle of the corner. It finishes different then face grain as you know. I would like to see a formula for splitting the angel and change the depth setting as stated in the beginning of this post.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what manual or pdf file is this miltered and angled joining info from... i would like a copy of this as i need all the help i can get --- really falling in love with woodworking, and want to learn more, and use my kreg jig to it's fullest potential :)
