I have been asked to make a pool table light that flares out at the bottom for optimal light exposure.  i will be using oak.  the problem i am having is finding plans for the light.  i know the angles are going to be tricky, so if i could find something out there, that would help tremendously...if not its going to be trial by error.

Hi - Guess nobody has any specific plans. I don't either. I think I would search out a bar or bowling alley that has tables. Preferably one that hosts a league. Take some measurements and go from there. Be sure to include the height above the table so you can make sure the sides are angled right. Some towns have pool players clubs which may be a good source.

Good Luck

yea i think i am going to have to wing it.  i was hopeing someone would have something but looks like its not goign to happen.  i have tried some stuff in sketchup but having issues getting the object to do angles at the end of the work piece.  i think i will kick it off at a 22.5 degree and try to figure out what the angles are at the ends.  should be fun

You might be able to do it on graph paper or delta Cad... I have trouble trying to get cute with sketchup also.

All you really need is how wide the table is and how far above the table the light is hung. Just draw it out to scale as looking from the end of the table. Probably safe to assume the light will take a straight path so just draw a couple of lines down just outside the table edge. That should get you in the ball park. You can take the width of the light source, ie; 1 lamp, 2 lamps, etc. later and make needed adjustments. Good Luck

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
