Would love the space jims got.
Nice, I need at least half of that to be a little more handy.
Re clamps
Prior to the huge selection of clamps on today's market,
clamps were often shop made or made on the job site---
using 1x or 2x stock, of adequate width & length---
blocks affixed in appropriate positions,
and wedges used between the fixed blocks and the workpieces.
For the homeowner and DYI, a large selection of many clamps, especially the large ones, that sell for $40 and more each!!!---is a big investment---not justified, when only for occasional use.
When for the occasional need of longer clamps, the pipe clamps are useful.
Use BIP---24 and 36'' lengths.
If a longer section is needed, use a coupling between the threaded ends.
To keep the clamps in the ''up'' position and off the work surface,
supports can be made from 2x stock---
cut a "U" groove into the 2x stock, and rest the pipe into the "U" groove.
I found out that woodworking helps me out with something to do at home. I have to agree with you, Ken. Us woodworkers have to much fun and enjoyment especially when we make something for somebody else. Jim, I like your clamp collection. Some projects you need a lot of clamps and some projects you don't. When you have big collection like Jim does, it is a blessing when you clamp something and you have enough clamps to so.
Mike,
It appears to me, your wood working, is more than just a ''pass time''.
I've often said, "No-one should be allowed to have so much fun''.
James ditto here , i guess i am semi retired and playing with wood is a pleasureable retirement past time.
as a novice, im really learning just how important clamps are.
Russ , maybe $300.00 after 20 + years , I always look for them when they are on sale , but the nice thing about it is that when I need a clamp there is always one there !!! I have been building up my tools for many years getting ready for retirement , which happened two years ago , and I have been enjoying myself since, have fun and enjoy your wood working , JIM
wow! that must be like over $500 in just clamps!
James, nice set of clamps and well organized. Your right about not having enough clamps. We can always use one more. Thanks for sharing. George

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
