I plan to make a custom pantry door with a framed in chalk board, what wood is best for a projects that can be painted white without showing allot of the grain to match the rest of the 6 panel doors i have throughout the house?

I would use Poplar or Soft Maple.  Both of these paint very nice and grain is minimal.

The wood should be sealed before painting.

To date, I've found ''Zinsser Bulls Eye SealCoat'', to be the best.
