Everyone was so helpful with my last question I thought I would post another.  What do you use to trim your wood plugs?

My favorite techniques is to start with a flush-trimming saw similar to this one (there are many versions available):

This type has the teeth set only on one side, so you can lay it on the workpiece and cut the plugs without scratching the wood around it.

If you're worried about scratches, you can put tape around the area for the saw to ride on.

After trimming, sand the remaining plug smooth, and you're done!

I also saw them off but I use a worn out orbital sanding disk and place over the plug
