Hi Friends!

Any brand recommendations for nail gun combo units? Also, oil or oiless compressor?

Thanks!

Nick

PS: Thanks to Kreg Tools my teenaged daughter and I have built two garden benches. Now she's hooked and wants to build more! I love it! -N

Good reference Ken, thanks

I would stay away from tool shop air nailers.  I made that mistake and bought a cheap kit for 60 from Menards.  The pin will leave an indentation in your work piece.  I tried turning down the pressure and it did not help.  I have since purchased the PC 18 gauge and 23 gauge combo from woodcraft and have been very happy with the results.

I purchased the Menards brand 16 gauge finish nailer and used it to install new strand bamboo floors and trim in my new house and I have very good success.  Only complaint is that I had a few nails that double fed and caused the gun to miss fire.  I noticed the problem when I used the PC 16 gauge nails.  I am not sure if it was the gun or a bad batch of nails.

Good luck.
