I make a large number of really big picture frames usually out of 1x3 or 1x4 material and found that the Kreg Jig setup made rock solid mitered corners but their was a slight problem and I'd like to share how I solved it. Imagine trying to hold say a 48 inch piece of material at a 45 degree angle, getting it properly aligned and then locking it in the Kreg Jig, it takes 2 people or at least 3 hands, very frustrating. I solved this problem with a simple holder that the Kreg Jig is attached to,pictured, that rotates the jig from horizontal to vertical so now my frame component is horizontal and no more fighting gravity. You are now drilling slightly up angle pocket holes that I have no problem with, in fact I leave my jig in the holder for all my pocket hole work not just mitered corners. The last picture I've included is just to verify my claim about making large picture frames, that's 30 frames to hold a 30x48 image, lots of pocket holes.

A couple tips you might pass along to your wife to help in her frame making, the most important step in making a perfect frame is you have to cut exact, not almost but exact 45 degree corners. Another thing, if your frame stock is narrow I often only use one pocket screw and alway use glue, good luck.

That's really nice Charlie. My wife loves making these out of reclaimed lumber and she's getting pretty good with them. She wants to learn to use the kreg jig to make join them but a jig would be awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
