Steve,

Carefully peruse the areas, where you are experiencing the resistance.

Is it a sliding or rotating motion interference?

Friction occurs in tight fits---such as metal to metal---either a sliding motion or rotation motion.

Perhaps applying a small amount of a suitable lubricant, will remedy the problem.

There are oil and grease type lubricants---

Oil types, such as WD40, silicon, 3-in-1 oil, SAE 20 motor oil, or the like, and

Grease types, such as lithium (white grease), or the like.

Dry-lubes are more useful, in some applications.

Apply a small amount to the spot or area where you feel the resistance.

When applying oil types, allow the oil to penetrate into the crevices, before attempting the movement or adjustment.

When using grease, use a small applicator---such as a toothpick to apply a small dab of lube, or a small brush, like an acid brush, popsicle stick, or the like.

Coat the leading edge of the spot or area.  Slide or turn the object, so that it carries the lube into the joint.

Applying the proper type lube, will result in smoother operation,  and reduce friction.

Don’t over load it with too much lube---it could get messy.

Over-lubing will cause other undesirable issues---over lubing will attract and hold sawdust and dirt, which will lead to interference.

Many new out of the box items, do not possess any lubricant---they are basically dry, except for some residual machining oil or rust preventative, to preserve the product during storage.

I used emery paper to clean it , dry lubricant etc. but it still takes a man and a small boy to lift it and adjust it

Thanks for your response Steve H

I do not have a Kreg but I do have a wood pecker same thing.     Did you loosen the set screw on the table to allow adjustment with the wheel.

Try putting some grease on the guide posts and make sure it moves well.  My is as smooth as a baby butt amd moves great.

Loosen the brake. That should have everything running smoothly.

Having the same problem.  The lift is very difficult to adjust.  Tried several lubricants, but none helped.  Any thoughts?

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
