I had not realized they had come out with a new version.   I bought the rip cut when it came out and love it.   Only improvement I could see would be some way to stabilize the end of the cut.

The changes to the Rip-Cut are are below. You can see more about it on the Rip-Cut product page online.

The biggest difference is that the red pointer has been replaced with a new clear lens that has a red cursor line. The locking clamp has also been changed--it has fewer parts. You can see both of those in the image below. The blue guide arm has also been lengthened just a bit. The new version also comes almost completely assembled--just mount your saw and screw the guide arm to the rail.

I did not have the earlier version of the Rip Cut so I can't really compare but the new Rip Cut works great. I had it out of the package attached to my saw and set for an exact cut in minutes. Ripping a sheet of anything is now a breeze. I used to clamp a long strait edge on a sheet to get an accurate cut but now I can use my new Rip Cut. Now something to remember when you are fully extended at the end and making a 2' rip you need to be careful to move the guide along with your saw. As with anything that is extended like that you have more force from moving your saw along the cut than there is to move the guide. Just keep them moving together and you get a perfect cut every time.

Still think this does not solve the problem with the last few inches of the cut.  Once the front of the guide is off the workpiece gravity will pull it downward creating a fulcrum effect and leading to inaccurate last few inches,  Can someone make a video of how to get around this problem, that specifically focuses on the last few inches of the cut, seeing would be believing in this case

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
