Thats ok I'll keep my K-2 it was only $ 100.00 and it has pad for it self and lasted throw me and my three Girls.
Harbor freight tools sells junk for the most part. If you need something for a one time use ok. but it sells Chinese junk for the most part let the buyer beware
I've experienced NO problems and it will be NO problem with the ''reinforced plastic'', employed in the Kreg drilling jig.
Reinforced plastics, when properly utililized in a product design, are very effective.
In some applications, it more suitable over metals.
I did buy one simply because it costs less... and I'm broke! the HF works fine but after some use the bits has dulled and the collar is showing some wear. Sure I want a Kreg, but until they bring the price into my neck of the woods I gotta go where my money goes further. $160? after all it's plastic!
I like the magnet idea

Here is the most inexpensive one of these pocket hole jigs that I have seen. You can build it yourself and modify it to your needs. The Dec. 28 2010 issue of Wood magizine Special Interest Publications pg. 109 has a plan that any diy'er can manucacture plus instruction photos on how to use. Very simple. The pattern is printed full size and from the looks of it you will spend under $5.00. or so. Looks like if you have the scraps laying around the shop and it comes to $0.00.
I had to google it but it does look pretty simple to make

That looks pretty cool. I might make a few, and different sizes and angles
Thanks for doing the legwork John.

That's exactly why I got the HF jig. I waited until it was on sale for $5 off then I used a 20% off coupon. I think it came to $53. It was pouring down rain all day Monday ( my day off), so I will attempt my chair building project this coming Monday.

Finally got around to building the "Outdoor Chair". I ended up using the Harbor Freight jig and the Kreg mini jig. I used a 100 count box of General Tools (Home Depot) screws. I didn't have a stop block for my saw, but most of my cuts came out reasonably good. Overall it took me around 3 hours or so, with a quick lunch break. The lumber cost about $24 and the screws, bolts, nuts, and washers about $13. A bottle of wood glue was about $4. I used all pressure-treated lumber. Man, this chair is heavy!

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
