I wonder if I need this tool? Does it make assembly a lot easier? Where do folks who onwthis clamp use it?

George,
It's a very handy and useful tool---
makes for easier and speedier assembly.
I use it primarily to hold pieces together to obtain optimum clamping, to keep the joined ''closed'' before installing the pocket hole screws.
I use some that I got from Rockler. It does help speed things up.
definitely useful!
George, It is a great tool used to clamping together two pieces of wood in a 90 degree joint. The clamp has a pointed end on one side of the clamp and a flat pad on the other. To use it place the two pieces together in its intended 90 degree angle, insert the pointed end into one to the pocket holes and the other around the end of the joint onto the oposing piece and clamp together. Screw in your screws and then remove the clamp and then screw in a screw where the clamp had been. You can make the 90 degree joint without the clamp but having the clamp insures you of a less trouble free assembly. I use mine to build cabinet boxes and also to attach face frames to the cabinet edges.
Great tool, but like I said, the clamp can dimple soft pine face frames.
Like Jay said, one can start at one end of the joint, and leap-frog ahead of the next screw in order to pull the joint into alignment. Maybe the real problem is just the crooked wood I try to assemble. Ugh!

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
