Making Pocket Hole Plugs

Saw Heaths Jig for cutting pocket hole plugs. Nice job. Thought I would have a go at an even simpler and quicker jig.
Use your bandsaw with a good fence -- I use a Kreg Precision Fence, as seen in pictures.
This will enable you to cut 100 plugs in about 25 minutes and at a very low cost; using 3/8" dowel rod. No measuring of angles or such. Kreg has done this for us.
Use Kreg Pocket Hole Jig to drill single hole (2 holes will halve the time to cut plugs) in 14"x1 1/2" x 3/4' piece of wood.
Pic 2/3/4 should be rotated clockwise - could not get them to rotate when doing this project on Kreg site.
Cut hole end of jig wood about 1/2" past end of pocket hole.
Insert dowel rod to extend out of pocket about 1/8". (Pic 1).
Cut rod on bandsaw along side of your new jig. (Pic 2).
Cut protruding end of rod flush with your jig. It will have the correct angle to fit pocket hole perfectly. (Pic 3).
Push plug out and you have a perfect new plug. (Pic 4). (And yes, Heath, the backdrop for this plug picture is my kitchen counter top).

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
